Please see these Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Intergroup Retreat on January 31, 2026, “The Power of We”.

1. Who is this retreat open to?
This retreat is open to members of Overeaters Anonymous (OA) as well as anyone who is struggling with overeating or compulsive eating. You do not need to be an OA member to attend. Newcomers and those curious about OA are warmly welcome.

2. Is this an Overeaters Anonymous–affiliated event?
Yes. This event is sponsored by the OA Greater Atlanta Intergroup and follows OA Traditions. The focus is on fellowship, unity, and sharing experience, strength, and hope.

3. Where is the in-person event being held?
In person: St. David’s Church – Harrison Hall, 1015 Old Roswell Rd., Roswell, GA

4. Is this an in-person or online event?
This is a hybrid retreat. Participants may attend in person or via Zoom.

5. Do I need to attend the entire day?
No. You are welcome to attend part or all the day, based on what best supports your recovery.

6. Is lunch provided?
No. Please bring your own lunch so you can honor your personal food plan and recovery needs. Water will be provided, and refrigeration is available if needed.

7. What should I bring?

  1.  A bag lunch and any snacks you may need
  2.  A journal and pen
  3.  An open heart and willingness to connect

8. Will there be sharing opportunities?
Yes. The retreat includes small group discussions, speaker shares, and opportunities for 3-minute participant shares, following OA meeting guidelines.

9. Will food or weight be discussed?
The retreat focuses on recovery, fellowship, unity, and spiritual principles, not specific food plans, weight, or dieting. Participants are encouraged to share from experience, strength, and hope.

10. Is there a cost to attend?
There is a recommended donation:

  • $10 early bird
  • $15 week prior
  • $20 at the door

No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

11. Will confidentiality be respected?
Yes. In keeping with OA Traditions, participants are asked to respect the anonymity and confidentiality of everyone attending.

12. Will sponsors be available?
Yes. Available sponsors will be identified during the closing portion of the retreat.

13. I’m new or unsure—can I still attend?
Absolutely. There is no requirement to share, no expectation of prior OA experience, and no pressure to participate beyond your comfort level. You are welcome exactly as you are.
