Explore Virtual Meetings

Maybe you live in a place that has few or no face-to-face meetings.  Or, perhaps you have an injury or physical limitation that makes it hard to get around. There is a solution: OA Virtual Meetings!

Virtual meetings don’t even have to be in your own time zone. Awake at 2:00 am? Join a call in Australia, if you like!

OA virtual meetings consist of telephone, online, and non-real-time meetings. Using telephone or online technology, OA members from around the world may attend meetings together. These meetings take place in “real time” and are fully interactive.  Also included are non-real-time-meetings, which do not meet in real time* (see below.)

Virtual meetings make recovery from compulsive eating possible for those who are unable to physically attend meetings, and also serve as a valuable program supplement to those who attend face-to-face meetings.

Like all registered OA meetings, virtual meetings welcome all who have the desire to stop eating compulsively, do not require members to practice any actions to remain a member or to share at a meeting, have no affiliations other than OA, and practice the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA.

Overeaters Anonymous has more than 400 recovery meetings each week for compulsive overeaters, bulimics and anorexics and the numbers continue to grow.  Meetings are available every day and most any time during the day or night.  Average attendance per meeting is 39 members.  Anyone with a desire to stop eating compulsively is welcome. – Find a telephone, online, or non-real-time meeting now!

*Non-Real-Time meetings are meetings that do not meet in real time or meetings that do not occur immediately. These meetings may take place over a period of hours or days. Examples of non-real-time meetings are email or bulletin loops, social media pages, bulletin boards or forums, and mobile applications. To register a non-real- time meeting, please complete the non-real- time registration/change form. View the current non-real- time meetings list.

Can’t make a meeting? Try a podcast!

Everyone leads busy lives, but our recovery has to come first. Podcasts are a great way to supplement face-to-face meetings. I listen when I’m sitting in traffic!  Find them online here: https://oa.org/podcasts/ or use any podcast app.

If you have an iPhone, just look for the podcast icon, which comes already loaded on your phone.  The icon looks like this:

Click on “search” and type in “Overeaters Anonymous.”  You will see see several programs. Some are recordings from various OA groups, and they are great, too. If you want the official OA.org podcasts, look for this icon:

Android users can download Google Podcasts.  Then search for Overeaters Anonymous” to find podcasts on this device.

Have an Alexa? You can also play Apple Podcasts by following these instructions.

Have fun exploring!
